Many people wonder what confirmation is and how it might have changed over the years. Some congregations have begun to rename this “Affirmation of Baptism”, since confirmation is basically an opportunity for people to affirm for themselves the promises that their parents, sponsors and congregation made for them at their baptism. The process of preparing people to affirm these promises includes classes and increased involvement in congregational life. The end goal is to prepare people to boldly and confidently make those promises, affirm their baptisms and continue to live out their faith in the church and their daily lives.
Rising 7th graders are welcome to attend with at least one adult guardian.
